Proto-Flo Logo PROTO-FLO™ has the essential features needed to tackle any computer modeling and performance analysis in a thermal-hydraulic system, regardless of complexity. PROTO-FLO calculates steady-state incompressible flows, pressures and temperatures in piping systems, and models pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other components. Whenever a utility engineer must precisely evaluate the performance of power plant systems to assess the impact of plant modifications or changes, to demonstrate conformance for plant licensing, or to minimize the costs for maintenance and operations, PROTO-FLO is the software of choice. PROTO-FLO’s built-in library of standard data, with powerful calculation and analysis capabilities, takes the uncertainty out of computer modeling and plant system evaluations.

Modeling thermal-hydraulic systems with PROTO-FLO provides utility engineers consistent, reproducible, verifiable, and cost-effective tools for evaluating and analyzing system procedural and/or equipment changes and the resulting impacts on overall system performance.

Proto-HX Logo PROTO-HX™ calculates temperatures and heat transfer rates in shell and tube heat exchangers, plate frame heat exchangers and air coolers, and accurately predicts system performance. A computer-generated model of a heat exchanger enables the expediency, efficiency, and in performing evaluations under differing situations. Computer modeling can also be used to establish preventive maintenance programs and to trend current and limiting levels of fouling resistance and/or limiting cooling water inlet temperatures. PROTO-HX’s built-in library of standard data takes the uncertainty out of modeling and evaluations and can help engineers address the heat exchanger concerns in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Generic Letter 89-13, Service Water System Problems Affecting Safety-Related Equipment.
Proto-HVAC Logo PROTO-HVAC™ models ventilation systems and calculate flows, pressures and temperatures through control dampers, fans, and ducts for system balance and optimized performance in existing systems or for contemplated changes. Utility engineers can quickly evaluate the performance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to assess the impact of plant changes, demonstrate conformance for plant licensing, and minimize costs for maintenance and operations. PROTO-HVAC simplifies the task by integrating all HVAC system variables into a comprehensive computer model. The user can simultaneously model or examine every control damper’s type and position, fan’s performance, and heat exchanger’s performance to precisely balance air flows, pressures, and temperatures.
Proto-Sprinkler Logo PROTO-SPRINKLER™ is a simple, powerful, and versatile design software tool that models and evaluates fire sprinkler systems of any complexity. PROTO-SPRINKLER follows the standard methodology and approach for calculations as specified in NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, and NFPA 15, Standard for Water Spray Fixed Systems for Fire Protection. PROTO-SPRINKLER provides all the capabilities needed to accurately and consistently model systems and give all results necessary to complete a calculation which meets NFPA requirements.
